Understanding take-home pay
Use the right salary basis and tax period before comparing India's New and Simplified Old Regime estimates.
India · Supported salaried-resident model; work-location limits apply · Tax Year 2026-27
TaxCalcy's India model uses Tax Year 2026-27, from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, under the Income-tax Act 2025. That label is not AY 2026-27. Do not apply this model to another period just because a search result uses a similar year label.

Enter the supported gross salary amount. A compensation package can also contain employer contributions, benefits or other components; do not treat their combined headline amount as cash deposited in your account. TaxCalcy is not a general CTC-to-in-hand converter.
EPF, ESI, NPS and professional tax need explicit payroll bases and applicability facts when selected. These components cannot be inferred reliably from a headline CTC amount.

The calculator's New and Simplified Old Regime comparison uses the same salary assumption. Enter deductions only after independently confirming eligibility. HRA, 80C and 80D eligibility, capital gains, other special-rate income and exact TDS are outside its complete coverage.
