Terms of Use

These terms describe the current TaxCalcy staging service. Use its estimates as planning information, not as a filed return or professional recommendation.

What TaxCalcy provides

TaxCalcy estimates employment-income tax, payroll or social deductions, take-home pay and selected planning effects for the jurisdictions and tax years shown. It also offers what-if salary and location comparisons. It is not tax filing, payroll, accounting or tax-preparation software, and using it does not create an adviser-client relationship.

Not professional advice

TaxCalcy does not provide tax, legal, accounting, investment or personalized financial advice. Do not use a result as the sole basis for filing, withholding, relocation or investment decisions. Consult a qualified professional when your situation requires one.

Estimates and coverage

Actual liability, employer withholding, payroll amounts, benefits and take-home pay can differ. Your inputs may omit facts; rules may change; rounding, residency, special income, local taxes, credits, deductions and employer practices may not be fully modeled. Review the calculation trace, sources, exclusions and displayed tax year before relying on a scenario. A displayed year does not automatically cover a later year.

Coverage varies. Salary planning estimates cover the stated scope, subject to the listed assumptions and exclusions. Labels such as Research required and Relocation preview identify cases requiring further review; no estimate is a filing guarantee. Benefits are informational prompts, not eligibility decisions or guaranteed payments; they are not added to estimated take-home unless an expressly modeled entitlement says otherwise.

Comparing locations

Comparisons are independent salary scenarios in each location's own currency. They do not rank where life is better and may exclude exchange rates, cost of living, housing, healthcare, immigration status, pensions and local charges. Check the assumptions for each location before drawing a conclusion.

Your inputs, account and saved records

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for entering accurate figures and reviewing eligibility assumptions. An account is optional. Google sign-in identifies you to TaxCalcy through Supabase; you are responsible for the security of your Google account and device. No access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar or Contacts is requested.

Saved records and backups

Local records remain in your browser unless you explicitly sync selected estimates to your account. Synced records can be accessed on another signed-in device. Keep sensitive names and exported files private. Signing out does not delete either local or synced records. Browser clearing or private mode may remove local records; network, browser or service failures can interrupt cloud access. Do not rely on TaxCalcy as your sole backup.

Deletion controls

You may delete individual synced records or all synced estimates independently of local copies. Account deletion, when enabled and confirmed, removes the cloud account and synced records; local-only estimates remain until removed separately. On staging, account deletion is not yet enabled pending server configuration and destructive testing. See the Privacy Policy for storage and retention details.

Availability, content and external links

We may correct or update the tool and its content; uninterrupted website, Google sign-in, Supabase service or cross-device availability is not promised. TaxCalcy's original branding, design, software and explanatory content are part of the product. Government tax laws and third-party materials remain with their respective owners. Links to external sources are provided for context; their separate terms and practices apply when you visit them.

Digital planner purchases and licence

Prices and consumer rights

Household Budget Planner has a Canadian base price of C$29; Job Offer Planner is C$19. Applicable government-imposed tax is additional. Your digital planner is available immediately after a verified purchase. Purchases are final once access is granted, except where required by law. This policy applies only where permitted in your jurisdiction and does not limit statutory rights.

Contact TaxCalcy support for duplicate charges, failed delivery or a product that does not work as described. Refunds and disputes remain available for review through the applicable payment process. Final wording, jurisdictional treatment and live activation require owner review.

Product licence and access

Each planner is a separate one-time digital purchase for the displayed product version. It includes account access to the guided planner and workbook downloads described on the product page. It does not promise every future major product or permanent operation of an unsupported version. Free TaxCalcy calculators remain separate.

Payment processing and future access

Stripe processes payment. Applicable government-imposed tax may be added at checkout only after the staging tax configuration is approved. A full refund revokes future access. Downloaded workbook copies remain under the customer's control and cannot be remotely deleted. Refund, consumer-protection, sales-tax and licence wording require owner and qualified-adviser approval before live payments are enabled.

Warranties and responsibility

TaxCalcy is provided for general planning on an as-available basis. To the extent applicable law permits, we do not promise that estimates are complete, error-free or suitable for a particular filing or decision, or that local or cloud saved data will never be lost. We are not responsible for losses caused by treating an estimate as professional advice. Nothing here removes rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. This clause needs legal review before significant commercialization.

Applicable law

Mandatory consumer and privacy protections that apply to you remain in force. TaxCalcy has not chosen a contractual governing-law clause for staging; the owner and a qualified adviser should review that question before public release.

Changes to these terms

Terms may be updated as the product changes. The last-updated date above will change when a new version is published. Review the current terms when returning to the service.
